Moms in Hillsdale County have a suprising amount of resources available to them, if they know where to look. Being in a small town, options are limited for Pelvic Floor Therapy and Breastfeeding support, however here are some local gems to consider:
Welcome Baby Home Visit: Through the Great Start Collaborative, families can register for a FREE "Welcome Baby Home Visit" where they will recieve a wide arrange of baby items and have the opportunity to talk to a childcare specialist about their child's development and gain local resources. If you would like to register, you can do so here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmXS7EzO1U-xyjweN7gG1tbCQtvkHTXUfAdIGK40HdkDk-6Q/viewform
Helping Hands Pregnancy Center: Helping Hands is Hillsdale's local pregnancy center that provides a wide array of resources to mothers-to-be. Not only do they provide complimentary pregnancy tests, but also offer a FREE "Earn While You Learn" program. Those in this program will be given a mentor to aid them in their parenting journey and through the completion of classes, families can use their "Baby Bucks" for items like diapers, formula, or even a crib.
Concord Chiropractic: Chiropractor Whitney Smith is trained in the Webster technique for adjusting pregnant women. She accepts HSA and insurance, making the services free or low-cost depending on your insurance provider. The Webster Technique, a chiropractic method, aims to balance the pelvis and reduce tension in surrounding ligaments. To book an appointment with her, you can call: (517) 524-2225.
Moms of Hillsdale County: Moms of Hillsdale County is a facebook group for local mamas to connect with others in the area. There are meetups, baby wearing groups, and breastfeeding support chats all in the group.
